Summer Internships

Asphalt Patch Systems is looking for reliable, hardworking interns to fill openings on our project management team.  We are looking for team members who work well in a team environment, but are also able to work independently without supervision. A person with a positive attitude who is eager to learn will do well in this environment.  This is a great opportunity for a college student to get real experience in the construction, project management, and administration field!

• $20-$25 depending on qualifications and current job description

Possible Functions:

• Project Management
  
  • Works with Sales Manager to plan and maintain efficient work schedules for all crews
  • Assists Sales Manager to dispatch crews daily; maintains communication with foremen throughout the day to update routes and work schedules as needed
  • Communicates with vendors and suppliers to ensure material and supplies are available and ready for use at the jobsite
  • Visits job sites with Sales Manager prior to dispatch, during production, and upon job completion to ensure quality and safety standards are being met.
  • Works with Sales Manager to ensure project deadlines are being met timely
    Communicates effectively with peers, foremen, crewmembers, contractors/subcontractors, inspectors, and general public
  • Assists Sales Manager and Contract Administrator with timely completion of job-related paperwork, including contracts, submittals, invoices, and purchase orders
  • Supports managers and office staff with other duties as assigned

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Internships may be part-time or full-time day shift positions. The core schedule is Monday through Friday, but days and hours of work vary according to position. Internships are designed to coincide with an applicant’s summer break, with potential to continue remotely during the school year.

Required Education and Experience:

• Currently pursuing degree in sales, business administration, project/construction management, or other related fields
• Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Current and valid US driver’s license with at least three years safe driving record
