Mechanic Jobs

Asphalt Patch Systems is looking for a reliable, hardworking individuals to fill openings on our shop team. This department performs a variety of duties to track, maintain, and repair vehicles, trucks, and equipment. The ideal candidate has a considerable amount of skill and expertise in areas such as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and diesel mechanics.

Possible Functions:

• Diagnoses, repairs, and rebuilds vehicles and equipment
• Performs inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including oiling, lubricating, and cleaning
• Reads, interprets, and implements complex instructions and schematics
• Uses a variety of tools and equipment, including power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment
• Prepares and maintains appropriate records on vehicles and equipment
• Communicates with vendors and suppliers to ensure material and supplies are available and ready for use in the shop
• Completes and submits administrative paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, including receipts, purchase orders, and invoices
• Occasionally operates dump trucks and heavy machinery
• Occasionally assists on the crew with production and operations
• Maintains an orderly shop
• Adheres to all company, state, and federal safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical experience working with trucks and/or heavy equipment
  (educational experience may be substituted depending on position)
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word,
  Excel, and Outlook
• Safe driving record

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Previous experience working with air brakes
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment related to road construction or repair
• Current and valid US Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement
• Current and valid US Class A commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement

• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
